Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It can also get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in a lot of extra features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
